This is my 2nd RLB bass and I'm just letting players know that this style may be available for custom order. RLB is a short-scale bass specialist with a vast collection and drawing upon years of experience, it's great that he is sharing his passion for building! My bass features a super-rare flame ash top and a 5A quilt maple back with a white mahogany core. It's a chambered body and using the ash for the top gives the bass a resonance and growl that is very unique and satisfying. I prefer a bolt-on neck for purposes of tone & sustain and this one is carved out of a solid billet of birdseye maple with a fantastic macassar ebony fretboard. A zero-fret enhances sustain and perfect intonation. Yes, that is a single 1980's Carvin M-22 pickup set in the sweet spot ala a G&L L1000. There's a traditional Wilkinson bridge and Hipshot Ultralight tuners and all the hardware is gold-plated. This bass has some serious tone and the custom Basslines preamp features just a volume control with concentric bass/treble for a super-clean look.
